On September 27th, Xi’an International Studies University (XISU) hosted a seminar on integration of enterprises with school for non-common language talents development. Vice President Li Jinghao attended and delivered a speech. Representatives from over 10 renowned enterprises, including Sunda International Group, Guangdong Twyford International Holdings Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Transsion Holdings Co., Ltd., Hikvision International Business Center, and Shaanxi Heavy Duty AUTOMOBILE Import & Export Co., Ltd., attended the seminar. Party and government officials from the School of Excellence and Innovation, the School of Japanese Culture and Economics, the School of Europe, the School of Russian Language, and the School of Oriental and African Studies participated in the seminar. The seminar was chaired by Yang Xiaojiang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office and Director of the Student Employment Guidance Center.
Li Jinghao, Vice President of XISU, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school. He stated that integration of enterprises with vocational schools and universities is an important measure to implement the Ministry of Education’s proposal to deepen educational reform and comprehensively improve the quality of talent cultivation. The school has long been committed to serving the country’s foreign affairs diplomacy and opening up strategy, and continues to strengthen the professional building of non-common language majors. At present, it has 20 non-common language majors, basically covering the major countries along the Belt and Road. Next, XISU will take the opportunity of building a community to cultivate non-common language talents and to integrate the enterprises with school, so as to further promote industry education integration, achieve linkage between talent cultivation and employment work, and enable universities to cultivate high-quality talents that truly meet the needs of society.
Yang Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Oriental and African Studies at XISU, announced the initiative to build a community to cultivate non-common language talents and to integrate the enterprises with school. This community aims to address the pain points faced by non-common language education, such as relatively single educational training model and long cycles for updating teaching content.
The initiative proposed four aspects of cooperation. First, we should jointly build a “knowledge base” for the integration of enterprises with school, integrate school and enterprise resources, and develop multi-parties teaching resources. The second is to create a “project base” and conduct project research through school-enterprises cooperation to enhance students’ ability to solve practical problems. The third is to cultivate a “talent pool”, which needs to build a multi-disciplinary teaching team, increase the supply of internships and employment, and cultivate the “non-common language talents plus” composite talents; The fourth is to build an “international cooperation platform”, relying on overseas resources from all parties, deepening international cooperation, creating opportunities for overseas practice, and cultivating professional talents with a global perspective and international competitiveness.
At the meeting, Gao Wanhui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Japanese Academy of Culture and Economics, Zhang Shisheng, Dean of the European Academy, Xing Hongyue, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Russian Academy, Lv Bin, Vice Dean of the Excellent Innovation Academy, and representatives of enterprises exchanged speeches on the development of teaching resources, talent training mode reform, research project development, and expansion of employment practice positions. The on-site interaction was frequent and the atmosphere was warm.
Ms. Wang Xiaoqing from Twyford International HR Center discussed with school leaders and business representatives on the ways of school-enterprises cooperation, the improvement of students’ quality and ability, and the adaptability of talents. She proposed two points for in-depth cooperation. Firstly, the school should enhance students’ ability to withstand pressure and cultivate their employment concept, so that they can adapt to the social environment faster and create their own value after leaving campus. The second is to combine the employment needs of enterprises with the training plans of colleges and universities, and provide support for language majors in colleges and universities to learn other professional knowledge besides language. We work together to help college students become high-quality composite talents that are in line with the development of the times!
Twyford International and XISU jointly signed the “Initiative to Build a Community to Cultivate Non-common Language Talents and To Integrate the Enterprises with XISU”. In the future, both schools and enterprises will make comprehensive efforts in multiple dimensions such as precise supply-demand matching, deep cooperation, international talent cultivation, social service innovation, and international exchange expansion. Relying on the community, we will promote the integration of enterprises and school to a new process and empower Chinese enterprises to embark on a new journey overseas.
