At 10:18 am on June 30, 2024, after Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal and Zambia, Twyford International's sixth country in Africa - Twyford Cameroon Ceramics Project (hereinafter referred to as: Twyford Cameroon Ceramics) K2 line was successfully put into production!

Twyford Cameroon Ceramics is about 65 kilometers away from KRIBI, which is an important port of the southwest of Cameroon. Helping create more than 1,200 local jobs, the first phase project covers a total area of 28 hectares and the planned production capacity is about 20 million square meters.

The preparatory work of the project started at the end of 2022. Overcoming difficulties like the ultra-long rainy season on the construction, the K2 line kiln was ignited at 11:18 am on June 15, 2024. After intense debugging work, the tiles were successfully produced on June 30 and the operation was realized officially. On the day of the ignition ceremony, Twyford Cameroon Ceramics general manager Wang Haoran, factory director Zhang Shun, new project preparation deputy factory director Sun Shenlei, new project preparation center project director Chen Gang, Cameroon branch general manager Li Guangmo, Cameroon bath products factory director Wei Jinghui, and Twyford Cameroon Ceramics’ staff representatives attended the event.

It is reported that Twyford Cameroon Ceramics K1, K2 production lines are planned to produce including interior wall, antique, wear-resistant, bright, full glazed and other products. K2 line was the first to be built and put into production. And K1 line, which is under construction, is scheduled to be put into production in the third quarter of this year.

The successful production of Twyford Cameroon Ceramics K2 line fills the gap in the field of ceramics in Cameroon, not only to meet the needs of the local market in Cameroon, but also to achieve radiation to neighboring countries, such as Chad, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo (Brazzaville) and other markets through Cameroon. In addition, the project will vigorously promote the development of Cameroon ceramics’ upstream and downstream related industries, greatly making impact on Cameroon's industrial, economic and social development, such as the production of raw materials required by more than 95% from the local, which will drive the development of upstream industry; promote the brand effect of made in Cameroon and increase the added value of products; create tax revenue for Cameroon and reduce dependence on imported products, which is conducive to propelling Cameroon's industrial development; create a large number of local employment opportunities and make huge contributions to local economy and social development.

At present, Twyford International has built 18 architectural ceramic production lines and 2 sanitary ware production lines in seven ceramic production bases in Africa, with more than 10,000 foreign employees, and the output of ceramic tiles exceeds 150 million square meters in 2023. Subsequently, with the construction of new projects such as Cote d 'Ivoire       ceramics in Africa, Honduras ceramics in Central America and Peru glass production in South America, the company will sustainably anchor the strategic goal of "Large Building Materials", prudentially expand regions and product categories, and build an internationally competitive building materials manufacturing industrial group.
