Senegal Ceramic Factory K3 Line successfully in Operation

KEDA (Senegal) Ceramic Company recently launched a fully automated K3 ceramic tile production line in Senegal. This production line will serve the greater West African region in production of ceramic tiles as it is the second project of KEDA (Senegal) Ceramics Company.

This new production line will mainly produce 300 x 300 (mm)、400 x 400 (mm) colored glazed floor tiles and wall tiles. At present，the current three production lines have a combined output 108,000 ㎡/day, the new production line will produce an additional 36000㎡ per day making the annual production capacity to be more than 37,000,000㎡.

The equipment on this line have been produced by KEDA Manufacturing and comprise of: one workshop with a 60T ball mill raw material processor, four KD3208 presses, a compensator, an efficient and energy saving intelligent extended roller kiln and, one glazing lines. These are just part of the comprehensive ceramic manufacturing equipment provided by KEDA Manufacturing.

After the line went into operation, KEDA (Senegal) Ceramics Company expanded its products catalogue to include porcelain tiles, colored glazed tiles, wear-resistant small floor tiles, fully glazed tiles in 600 × 600 (mm), and antique products. This expansion has increased the product variety for KEDA (Senegal) Company and thus will help to strengthen Senegal's domestic market advantage by consolidating and expanding its market share in exporting to neighboring countries such as Gambia and Mauritania.

The construction of this new production line in Senegal started in November last year. During this period, the KEDA project construction team faced and overcame numerous difficulties, such as assembly of multiple pieces of equipment, difficulty in sea transportation of equipment and tight construction schedules. Moreover, more than 40 of the team members in this project remained on site during the Spring Festival, racing against time to ensure the smooth commissioning of the whole line on time.

KEDA (Senegal) Ceramics Company is the fourth ceramics factory invested in Africa by KEDA Manufacturing and Sunda International in response to the national policy "One Belt, One Road" initiative. As a companion of Africa's urbanization strategy, KEDA is constantly expanding its presence in West Africa，evident in the two ceramic tile production lines in Cameroon and one K1 production line in Côte d'Ivoire that are under construction and are expected to be fully operational by 2024. KEDA Manufacturing is continuously working towards expansion of Ceramic Tile Manufacturing Industry in Africa and accelerate the growth of its main production lines capacity. This will not only greatly promote the development of the building materials industry in Africa, but also provides vital support for the rapid development of KEDA's business growth. In the future, KEDA Manufacturing will also contribute more resources to China-Africa economic and trade cooperation through the diversified layout of large building materials.
